Howdy!

Welcome to Big Grin! We are Mary, Larry, and Zak Kent of Dallas, Texas, and we're sure glad you're here! In this site you will find information about who we are and what we do - and we hope that your visit here will put a Big Grin on your face.

Whooooop!!

Congratulations go to our son, Zak, as he graduated from college on May 14th from Aggieland! We had a big celebration with about 75 of Zak's friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church on the 13th and it was a very meaningful time as friends shared memories and stories of so many good times through his years at A&M.

Summer Opportunities!

It's a Rocky Mountain High again this summer 2010 as Zak and Mary are working at Sky Ranch Ute Trail near Lake City, Colorado! Mary is the Food Services Director and Zak is once again the "Dish-Head" - in charge of the setup and cleanup for all the kitchen and food service. So Mary & Zak are serving together and enjoying the high country! Larry will go up to visit a couple of times, but will be spending quite a bit of time in the studio this summer working on a new music project!!

Big Grin??

Where did Big Grin come from? Back in college days before we were married, we were attending different schools several hours apart, and would write each other letters each week. As Mary wrote her letters, she would always sign them and use for her return address the drawing of a big grin. Smiling and laughing has always been one of her trademarks. So years later as we were developing the pottery work and the musical services, we chose the Big Grin to represent our work. We hope you will find joy as you peruse these pages of Big Grin Productions.

Big Grin Pottery

Mary has always been a creative artist. She has enjoyed working in painting, sculpture, and various other media. While completing her degree in Fine Arts, the potter's wheel became her favorite tool and clay her favorite means of expressing her art. Big Grin Pottery was started more than twenty years ago on her homemade kick-wheel that is still spinning today. Mary works out of her studio building that she and Larry built in 2005.

Mary has presented her works through regional art fairs, retail shops, restaurants, and a Christian bookstore. She loves to make functional ware - serving bowls, cereal bowls, pitchers, etc. One of her specialties is making cut-out candle holders. Samples of her work can be seen in our Gallery and are available to order through email: beaver79@sbcglobal.net,  or phone: 214-503-0387.

Another passion for Mary is doing pottery demonstrations for groups. She shares the message of Christ from her potter's wheel and show's the various stages and steps the clay goes through to become a beautiful pot.
